Full Moon in Taurus - November 12, 2019
Dear Earth,
We witness a Full Moon in Taurus on Tuesday, November 12, and it is conjunct the Mercury retrograde. Astronomically speaking, the Moon on one side of us is receiving the light of the Sun on the other side. Meanwhile, Mercury who has been traveling retrograde, meets the Sun the day before the full moon. In ancient astrology, this was referred to as Mercury stepping over the Sun. If you can, go to your nearby observatory to see this unclose! Even without a telescope, you can see a little black dot strolling across the Sun at 7:35am ET on November 11.
This is the turning point of the Mercury Retrograde. The Sun illuminates Mercury as it reaches the midpoint of its journey. We start to see an opening, a crack of light, through whatever we have been turning over in our minds. If you’ve been having a struggly retrograde (lost your phone? got into another fight with your honey but don’t know what it means?) — this is when you begin to find your way.
Mercury retrograde in Scorpio has asked us to unearth what is buried. To dig up our secret hopes and fears, and to bravely give them their overdue release. And to find relief from what weighs on us.
There is relief in the truth. There is liberation in speaking truth to our selves, our loved ones, and to corruptions in power. It saves all of us prolonged pain when we are honest.
Taurus is a sign that trusts itself. It is content in its abilities and delights in its potential, for it is fecund. It is self-possessed. It can birth any new life it desires. With this full moon, we get to reclaim our self-trust. Following the Scorpio new moon, this full moon is the medicine for self-doubt, which is self-trust.
What do you know to be true? Celebrate it by turning towards it. Honor what you deeply know by orienting your life around it.
While the turning point of Mercury’s retrograde begins to show us openings, I will caution against any final decisions and irreversible actions. Please wait until Mercury is direct in a couple of weeks for that!
For now — move toward your inner knowing. Get honest, with your self at the very least. Unburden yourself and give yourself to rest. Rest the body, rest the heart. Thank the heart for holding your emotions. Thank the body for the miracle of its existence. All bodies, all shapes, all mobilities — a miracle and a beauty.
As one of my mentors recently told me:
You are very clear. Trust your clarity. It is not a virtual reality; it is not an imagination. Your clarity is real. So let yourself be clear. Follow your clarity.
You won’t fail if you do.
with lunar love,
