SPRING 2023 EDITION: ANCESTORS READING
Every Spring, my family and I visit the graves and sweep them lovingly for our ancestors. It is the Festival of Clear Brightness ( 清明節) in the Chinese and Taiwanese calendar. I go to our tiny ancestral island in the Pacific and clear away the brush, dust off the tombs, and pray that my ancestors be well. You, too, might have practices for honoring the dead and remembering your lineage.
In honor of this holiday, this Spring I offer Ancestor Readings. The beautiful and sometimes difficult truth is that we are a continuation of our ancestors. Our lives are evidence of theirs, and we carry within us their defeats and their triumphs, their gifts and their scars. This astrological reading helps you hear your ancestors and work with the legacies they have passed onto you.
The reading begins with an invocation to protect our work within a prayer container. We locate your known ancestors in the natal chart, your unknown ancestors, and any specific ancestors you want to connect with. You may book a full session for 50 minutes, or a microdose session of 20 minutes. Please indicate which astrological system you would like to work with: Chinese (Bazi) or Western (Hellenistic).

To account for my time (the session, preparation, and admin), the true cost of a full session is $20 and the true cost of a microdose session is $100. The following are some considerations for you to discern how much you can donate.
Full session at $200-$300 / Microdose at $100-150: Consider paying this amount if you are comfortably able to meet your basic needs*, own the home you live in or rent a higher end property, have access to savings and/or investments and/or inherited wealth, and have reliable work or do not need to work to meet your needs. This is a pay-it-forward rate that paves for the way for others.
Full session at $150-200 / Microdose at $75-100: Consider paying this amount if this reading would be an investment, but not create hardship for you. You might choose this rate if you are regularly able to meet your basic needs*, have some expendable income, and have some debt but are able to pay it regularly. This is the at-cost rate.
Full session at $90-150 / Microdose at $50-75: Consider paying this rate if it is a stretch to meet your basic needs*, you have limited expendable income and limited to no savings, have significant debt, no financial safety net from family, and paying more would pose a significant hardship. This is a discounted rate for those who face systemic oppression.
*Basic needs defined for these purposes as housing, healthcare, food, transportation, and childcare.
Please refer to the above as considerations in your decision making rather than fixed rates. I never want money to be a barrier to access.
SCHEDULING A SESSION
Booking Policy: A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your appointment and counts toward the total financial contribution for your reading.

Send your $50 deposit via Venmo @agardenofstars. Or, you may opt to send the full contribution in lieu of a deposit.

After our session, make the remainder of your contribution if you have not already.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please give a minimum of 5 days notice.
If you cancel without sufficient notice, your deposit is non-refundable.
Arrive promptly to your reading. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment is cancelled and your deposit is non-refundable.
